WHAT CAN YOU DO

What can you doYou can participate in a project in any of the areas in which we work

 

Fair Trade:
  • Product development/support workshops.
  • Help in the shop/awareness.
  • Workshops with women in the shop (customer service strategies, management tools, computer classes, etc).
Education:
  • Caregiver to babies aged 0-3 years.
  • Help in schools.
  • Remedial classes/school holidays.
  • Workshops with women (computer science, English, swimming, etc).
Logistics:
  • General help (help with purchases, orders, in the warehouse, gathering and entering data, etc).

 Specific activities will be decided based on your preferences and the organisation's specific needs at the time of your visit. You will be given all the help you need to do the activities agreed. Activities are usually carried out in groups.

 

Project days will be organised as follows:
  • Day 1: Arrive in Lamu on the agreed day. Welcome, dormitory accommodation and initial meeting. Division of labour and organisation of work.
  • Day 2: Presentation of the project and the beginning of the collaboration. In the afternoon, visit the village where the women on the project live.
  • Day 2 to the penultimate day: Work on the project. Weekends off.
  • Last day: Departure.

Timetable:

  • 7:30-8:00: Breakfast.
  • 8:00-14:00: Tasks.
  • 14:00-15:00: Lunch.
  • 15:00-17:00: Free time/workshops.
  • 17:00-20:30: Free time
  • 21:00: Return to the project facilities*
  • 21:30: Dinner

* During the weekend, if necessary, three shifts are organized to return to the project facilities (21:00h/24:00h/02:00h).
